[Featured Stock] Daeyu Plus Rises on Development of COVID-19 Vaccine Storage Freezer

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Daeyu Plus is showing strong performance. It appears that the news of developing an ultra-low temperature freezer capable of safely storing the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines in collaboration with Winia Dimchae has had an impact.

As of 11:18 AM on the 27th, Daeyu Plus was trading at 909 KRW, up 5.09% (44 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.

The Winia ultra-low temperature freezer (tentatively named Medibox), jointly developed by Daeyu Plus and Winia Dimchae, is a compact product with a capacity of 90ℓ and a weight of 65 kg, capable of storing vaccines for 18,000 people per freezer unit.

The temperature can be set from minus 80℃ to plus 10℃ to store all vaccines scheduled for domestic inoculation. Additionally, it is explained that by using a separate battery pack, the ultra-low temperature state can be maintained for 1 to 2 hours without external power supply.

This freezer product is currently undergoing certification from relevant institutions. The goal is to launch it within the first quarter of this year.

Winia Dimchae has been researching and developing ultra-low temperature freezers capable of storing and transporting vaccines with domestic COVID-19 vaccination in mind.

Winia Dimchae recently filed a trademark application for "Medibox" (MEDIBOX) with the Korean Intellectual Property Office. Three related technology patents are also pending. Daeyu Plus, a kimchi refrigerator manufacturer, is also in the process of obtaining medical device manufacturing approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
