[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) is the first local government in the Gwangju-Jeonnam region to establish a smart kiosk system for large waste and has begun full-scale service provision.
According to Nam-gu on the 27th, a smart kiosk system for large waste disposal was recently installed at Lotte Super in Bongseon-dong, Namyang Hutton 1st complex, and POSCO The Sharp apartment complex.
Before establishing an unmanned payment system within the district, Nam-gu sent a guide for installing large waste smart unmanned reception devices to apartment complexes in the district at the end of last year and selected two apartment complexes that wished to build the system.
The large waste smart kiosk system allows residents who want to dispose of large waste to visit the terminal installation location, enter the disposal date and place, and the processing company moves to the designated location on the specified date to collect the waste.
This eliminates the inconvenience of having to visit the local administrative welfare center to purchase waste disposal stickers when handling large waste.
In particular, it can be used anytime during holidays or nighttime, making large waste disposal much easier, and it has the advantage of being able to process in a non-face-to-face manner to stabilize residents' health in the post-COVID-19 era.
Additionally, processing fees and refunds can be easily handled with credit or debit cards.
A Nam-gu official stated, “There were restrictions on holiday and nighttime use and the inconvenience of face-to-face contact when disposing of large waste, but with the system establishment, these inconveniences can be improved. Especially, anyone can use it regardless of their residential area, which will also help enhance residents' convenience.”
