[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Four suspects who assaulted a man in his 20s and extorted money from him at a motel in Incheon after agreeing to a conditional meeting have been arrested by the police.

The Gyeyang Police Station in Incheon announced on the 26th that they have apprehended and are investigating two men in their 20s, including Mr. A, and two teenage women on charges including robbery.

Mr. A and his group are accused of assaulting a man in his 20s, Mr. B, at a motel in Gyeyang-gu, Gyesan-dong around 12:50 a.m. that day, stealing 300,000 won in cash and his mobile phone, and fleeing the scene.

It was confirmed that they lured Mr. B to the motel room through a chat application by proposing a "conditional meeting."

After Mr. B entered the room, they assaulted him and took his cash and smartphone before escaping, according to the investigation.

During the police investigation, Mr. B reportedly stated, "I entered the room and was assaulted by the men, who took 300,000 won in cash and my mobile phone."

The police, upon receiving Mr. B's report, analyzed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage around the motel and conducted inquiries, subsequently arresting the four suspects in succession in Daejeon and Bupyeong, Incheon, that afternoon.

The police stated they plan to review whether to apply for arrest warrants after further investigation of the suspects.
