January 26-27 New Year Major Work Report Meeting ... Discussion on Direction of 374 Project Initiatives
Sangju City is holding the '2021 Sangju City Major Business Report Meeting' chaired by Mayor Kang Young-seok of Sangju City in the city hall small conference room.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Sangju City, Gyeongbuk Province, will continue the '2021 Sangju City Major Business Report Meeting' on the 27th at the city hall small conference room, presided over by Mayor Kang Young-seok, following the meeting on the 26th.
In this report meeting, detailed promotion directions and execution plans for a total of 374 projects across 35 departments, including 114 new and core projects and 230 major projects by sector, will be discussed.
Key projects include issuing local currency worth 50 billion KRW and expanding affiliated stores, distributing delivery apps linked with the currency app, building a small business database, establishing a youth support center, and fostering young merchants.
The city plans to establish a virtuous cycle system of local capital through these projects to overcome the regional economic crisis caused by COVID-19 and create various jobs.
Additionally, the city will proactively prepare response measures to external environmental changes and discover future growth engine base projects such as the development of future strategic projects in the hinterland area of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport and the construction of the east-west transverse high-speed railway.
Along with this, to grow as a central city for future smart agriculture and livestock industry, the city will promote projects such as the establishment of the Gyeongbuk Smart Farm Innovation Valley, relocation of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services, and construction of the Agricultural Products Distribution Center (APC).
The city will strengthen cultural software and hardware by building the Sangju Municipal Library (Life Culture Center), Sangju Youth Marine Education Center, Inland Water Ornamental Fish Business Center, recording and translating about 15,000 classical items held by the Sangju Museum, excavating the Obongsan Tumuli, and hosting a comic festival, thereby discovering Sangju’s unique history and stories of its people.
Mayor Kang Young-seok requested at the report meeting, "While promoting various policies to recover the stagnant local livelihood economy, I ask all public officials to do their best with one heart so that this year can be the first year to make Sangju City shine as the 'Sang' (top) of 'Gyeongsang' based on perseverance and creative spirit."
