[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The National Statistical Portal (KOSIS) website and mobile application, which were previously filled with dense small text, have been completely revamped to be easier to view.

The Statistics Korea announced that the new KOSIS will be available starting from the 27th. The main screens have been visualized to make it easier to find important statistical information.

Instead of lining up text continuously, key items are represented with images to make information easier to find.

Thirty core statistical data sets, which have been frequently used by the public, have been turned into icons so that users can access them simply by clicking a button.

Efforts were also made to improve mobile convenience. The mobile interface was designed to be identical to the PC website screen to avoid confusion.

Starting in April, chatbot (Kobot) and 3D population experience content will be provided.

3D content will be created to allow users to experience population statistics related to low birth rates, aging, and multicultural eras through virtual reality (VR).

A Statistics Korea official said, "We plan to continue our efforts to create an environment where the public can use statistics easily and conveniently, and to support rational decision-making based on data."
