Participating to Foster a Culture of Child Protection and Prevent Traffic Accidents... Delivering Child Traffic Accident Eradication Message with the Slogan "Stop at 1, Look Both Ways at 2, Wait for 3 Seconds, and Prevent with 4"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) participated in the 'Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge.'

The 'Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge' is organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to establish a culture that prioritizes child protection and to build national consensus on preventing children's traffic accidents.

The relay challenge involves participants sharing photos on SNS holding signs with safety slogans and hashtags, and nominating three next participants.

Mayor Changwoo Lee of Dongjak-gu, nominated by Gangnam-gu Mayor Soongyun Jung, joined the challenge and posted a photo on SNS such as Facebook holding a sign that reads, "Stop at 1! Look both ways at 2! Wait for 3 seconds! Prevent 4 dangers!"

Along with this, he conveyed a message saying, "When looking at the proportion of pedestrian traffic accidents by age group, children under 12 years old have a rate 1.5 times higher than adults (19 years and older), and about 65% occur among kindergarteners or lower grades of elementary school (grades 1-3). We will do our best to create a traffic safety environment so that children can grow up safely."

Mayor Changwoo Lee of Dongjak-gu nominated Jo Woo-yeon, president of the Green Mothers' Association, Oh Jeong-hee, head of the parent division of Dongjak Innovation Education District, and Kim Gyu-in, chairperson of the Youth Council, as the next participants in the challenge.
