[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] In Mexico, a wife who discovered photos suggesting her husband's infidelity became enraged and attacked him with a weapon. However, it was later revealed that the woman in the photos with the husband was actually the wife’s younger self.
According to Latin American media outlet 'La Prensa' on the 26th (local time), a woman living in Sonora, Mexico, mistakenly believed her husband was cheating and attacked him with a weapon on the 16th.
At the time, the woman found evidence of infidelity on her husband’s cellphone. Several photos were discovered showing the husband enjoying secret meetings with an unfamiliar woman.
Furious over her husband’s supposed infidelity, the woman immediately went to the kitchen, grabbed a weapon, and approached her husband, swinging it multiple times. Neighbors who witnessed the incident reported it to the police, who arrived and arrested the wife at the scene.
Police investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding. The photos the woman believed to be evidence of infidelity were actually images of the wife herself when she was younger.
The woman reportedly told the police, "The woman in the photos looked so young and beautiful that I didn’t realize it was me from the past."
The husband explained about the photos on the cellphone, saying, "They are pictures taken with my wife when she was young," and added, "I wanted to keep old photos digitally stored on the phone."
Meanwhile, according to the media report, the husband was injured by the weapon wielded by the woman and received treatment at a hospital, while the woman remains in custody.
