[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it was selected as an ‘Excellent Institution for Procurement Service Usage in 2020’ by the Public Procurement Service.
The Excellent Institution for Procurement Service Usage is selected by comprehensively evaluating public institutions including local governments nationwide based on their outstanding use of procurement services, compared to the previous year’s procurement service usage performance, procurement revenue growth rate, utilization of the Korea ON-line E-Procurement System (KONEPS), and contribution to future procurement projects.
The county received high praise for continuously expanding the purchase of goods and electronic contracts through the Public Procurement Service (KONEPS), improving procurement service usage performance and the efficiency of public procurement services, and enhancing transparency in procurement administration.
County Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, “We will continue to activate public procurement services to prevent unnecessary budget waste and strive to improve administrative transparency and integrity. We will also actively work to expand contract participation opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, especially local companies, to revitalize the local economy.”
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun received a grade 2 in the comprehensive integrity evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission in 2020 for its transparent and fair public service culture. It was also ranked first in the comprehensive evaluation of non-tax revenue collection and was the only city/county in Jeollanam-do selected as an excellent city/county in the 2020 local finance best practice evaluation.
