An Event to Collect Food and Household Items Stored in Each Home and Deliver Them to Neighbors in Need for a Warm Holiday Celebration
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is conducting the 'Seol Holiday Donation Sharing Campaign' from January 21 to February 17 in celebration of the traditional Korean Lunar New Year holiday.
The 'Donation Sharing Campaign' is an event to collect food and daily necessities stored in each household and deliver them to neighbors in need nearby, so they can have a warm holiday.
Residents who wish to participate can donate items in donation sharing boxes installed at community centers, designated base institutions selected by each neighborhood, public daycare centers, and comprehensive social welfare centers?places frequently used by residents.
Acceptable donation items include food such as rice, ramen, canned goods, flour, and beverages, as well as daily necessities like soap, detergent, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and tissue paper. Items that can spoil at room temperature, such as frozen or refrigerated foods, side dishes, and instant foods, are excluded from the donation list.
The district is making efforts to expand resident participation and foster community spirit through this donation sharing campaign. The donated items collected through these warm gestures will be delivered to neighbors in need through the 'Yangcheon-gu Food Bank & Market Center.'
The 'Donation Sharing Campaign' is conducted year-round at the 'Yangcheon-gu Food Bank & Market Center,' not only during holidays. Individuals or organizations wishing to participate can contact the Welfare Policy Division of Yangcheon-gu Office or the Yangcheon-gu Food Bank & Market Center for detailed information.
Mayor Kim Soo-young stated, "Through the Seol Holiday Donation Sharing Campaign, we ask for the interest and cooperation of local residents, organizations, and businesses so that our neighbors in welfare blind spots can have a generous and abundant Lunar New Year."
