Due to COVID-19, the meeting was conducted in writing, and Kim Jong-hwan was unanimously elected by the directors. President Kim will lead the branch from January until the regular general meeting in January 2024.
President Kim began as a Saemaeul leader in Gwandong-ri, Oeseo-myeon in 2010 and previously served as president of the Saemaeul Library Sangju Branch. In recognition of his contributions, he has received awards such as the Saemaeul Movement Central President's Commendation.
President Kim said, "I will actively strive to revitalize the library through promoting reading habits and various library activities in the region," adding, "As I have been elected president of the Saemaeul Library Sangju Branch during this difficult time of prolonged COVID-19, I will also continuously carry out community service and social contribution activities."
Meanwhile, the Saemaeul Library Sangju Branch is working to foster a reading culture through initiatives such as operating budget-friendly book libraries at summer resorts and promoting reading habits among all citizens.
