[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Oh Shin-hwan, a former lawmaker running for the People Power Party's Seoul mayoral candidate, evaluated the Justice Party's decision to suspend Representative Kim Jong-cheol over sexual harassment allegations as "the Justice Party being a hundred to a thousand times healthier than the Democratic Party."
On the same day, Oh commented on the Justice Party's response to the sexual harassment issue involving Representative Kim, saying that since the perpetrator is "the party leader and the victim is a member of the National Assembly, the confusion and aftershocks the party will face going forward will not be insignificant," but added that "the Justice Party chose principle."
He continued, "Although it will be difficult at first, if the party follows the right path while upholding principles, the confusion will eventually be resolved and the wounds will heal."
Oh referred to the Democratic Party, saying, "'Victim complainant' rhetoric to cover up and minimize, informing the perpetrator of the accusation, shedding crocodile tears along with lies, and breaking the promise of no nomination, causing the entire party to inflict second, third, and fourth harms," highlighting the contrast.
Oh also stated, "It is truly shameful and deplorable before the people that similar incidents keep recurring in the political world," adding, "At this point, blaming others is like spitting while lying down. It is time to be even more strict with oneself."
