Last Year Paid-in Capital Increase 25.6 Trillion KRW, Up 59%... Bonus Shares 970 Million, Up 109%


[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Last year, the total number of paid-in capital increase issuances was 1,128 cases, amounting to 25.6373 trillion KRW, showing a 7.1% increase in the number of cases and a 59.3% increase in amount compared to the previous year (1,053 cases, 16.091 trillion KRW).


According to the Korea Securities Depository on the 25th, in the KOSPI market, 110 cases worth 13.248 trillion KRW were issued, representing an 8.9% increase in the number of cases and an 85.1% increase in amount compared to the previous year. In the KOSDAQ market, 389 cases worth 6.4335 trillion KRW were issued, showing a 3.2% increase in the number of cases and a 25.1% increase in amount.


By allocation method, third-party allotment accounted for 884 cases, 10.5443 trillion KRW (41.1%), shareholder allotment for 108 cases, 8.7696 trillion KRW (34.2%), and public offering for 136 cases, 6.3234 trillion KRW (24.7%) in order.


The company with the largest paid-in capital increase amount was Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction (1.4507 trillion KRW), followed by Industrial Bank of Korea (1.2688 trillion KRW) and Shinhan Financial Group (1.1582 trillion KRW). The company with the largest public offering paid-in capital increase amount was Big Hit Entertainment (962.6 billion KRW), followed by SK Biopharm (652.3 billion KRW) and Soulbrain Holdings (497.8 billion KRW). The companies with the largest number of paid-in capital increase shares were Woori Comprehensive Financial (200 million shares), Bitsrosys (195 million shares), and JR Global Trust Management Real Estate Investment Company (166 million shares) in order.


The total number of bonus issue issuances was 165 cases, amounting to 13.1896 trillion KRW, showing a 34.1% increase in the number of cases and a 175.5% increase in amount compared to the previous year (123 cases, 4.7881 trillion KRW). By market, in the KOSPI market, 18 cases worth 1.4334 trillion KRW were issued, showing a 12.5% increase in the number of cases and a 42.9% increase in amount compared to the previous year. In the KOSDAQ market, 50 cases worth 11.5211 trillion KRW were issued, showing a 19.0% increase in the number of cases and a 218.3% increase in amount.


The company with the largest bonus issue amount was Alteogen (2.627 trillion KRW), followed by Hugel (1.3102 trillion KRW) and Madpacto (636.9 billion KRW). The companies with the largest number of bonus issue shares were Jaan (113 million shares), Quro (65 million shares), and Kumho HT (58 million shares) in order.
