[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 25th that it has published the books There Is a Reason for Rising Tourism and Night Tourism Around the Globe That Even Aliens Fell for, compiled from direct coverage of tourism trends worldwide by its 32 overseas branches.
There Is a Reason for Rising Tourism, published for the second time this year following last year, covers practical ideas and various cases to consider the future of new tourism in the era of COVID-19. It is divided into five categories: nature-friendly tourism, wellness tourism, new travel methods, tourism resource development, and historical and cultural experiential tourism, comprising a total of nine themes and including 32 cases from each branch.
The newly published Night Tourism Around the Globe That Even Aliens Fell for focuses on night tourism, expected as a breakthrough for recovering the tourism industry and stimulating the economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19. Through various overseas cases that develop and utilize a city's history, tradition, culture, and natural conditions as night tourism content, it suggests that active cooperation among residents, governments, and local authorities is the most essential condition for success.
Both books deliver vivid cases based on local data collection, interviews with stakeholders, and firsthand experiences conducted by the organization's overseas branches, providing valuable insights for those involved in domestic tourism policy planning and business. Both books are available at offline bookstores nationwide and online bookstores.
Jin Jonghwa, head of the International Tourism Strategy Team at the Korea Tourism Organization, said, “Countries around the world are attempting to develop new tourism content that can adapt to the significant changes brought by COVID-19. We hope these books will be helpful to industries and local governments that are considering and preparing for new tourism.”
