[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] Gangwon Province is holding a special online discount sale for the Lunar New Year in celebration of Gangwon Mart's entry into LotteON, Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd.'s integrated online mall, in collaboration with LotteON.

Gangwon Province announced on the 24th, "From the 25th until the 12th of next month, over 600 excellent agricultural and specialty products from Gangwon Province will be sold nationwide to consumers through Gangwon Mart, which is entering the LotteON brand store."

In particular, about 70 excellent agricultural and specialty products representing clean Gangwon Province (such as Korean beef sets, Chuncheon Dakgalbi, Gangneung coffee bread, highland apples, jam, honey, snack sets, etc.) will be sold as Lunar New Year gift sets.

The province expects that the special sale will provide discount coupons ranging from 20% to 30% depending on the product price, giving consumers the opportunity to purchase Gangwon's excellent agricultural and specialty products at low prices, while also serving as a chance for producers to promote their specialty products and increase sales.

Additionally, for Hwacheon County, which is facing difficulties due to the cancellation of the 'Sancheoneo Festival,' a 'Sancheoneo Special Sale' will be held at Lotte Department Store (offline) and LotteON until the 31st.

This special sale is a follow-up event to the business agreement signed last November between Gangwon Province and LotteON to discover excellent agricultural and specialty products and revitalize marketing, during which Governor Choi Moon-soon personally visited LotteON.

Meanwhile, 'Gangwon Mart' recorded its highest sales ever since its opening, surpassing 15.8 billion KRW in sales last year.

Since its establishment in 2002, Gangwon Mart has maintained steady growth, already exceeding the total sales of 12.6 billion KRW in 2019 by September last year, and by the end of the year, total sales reached 15.8 billion KRW, an increase of 3.2 billion KRW (25%) compared to the previous year.
