This Year, 5,141 Public Corporation Positions Open... Incheon International Airport Corporation Starting Salary 45.89 Million KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Eunbyeol] This year, 31 public enterprises will newly hire more than 5,000 personnel. More than half of them will start recruitment in the first half of the year.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance's '2021 Public Institution Recruitment Information Fair' data on the 24th, the total number of planned hires this year at the 31 public enterprises participating in this fair was counted as 5,141 as of this date.

Since five organizations including Korea Racing Authority, Korea National Oil Corporation, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Korea Expressway Corporation, and Korea Midland Power have not yet finalized the number of hires for regular and indefinite contract positions, the actual number of hires is expected to increase.

Incheon International Airport Corporation will newly hire a total of 60 people this year, including 40 regular employees, 17 indefinite contract employees, and 3 high school graduate hires. Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) will hire 36 new regular employees (management positions).

The public enterprise with the largest number of hires is Korea Railroad Corporation, which will recruit 1,400 new employees, including 1,230 regular employees and 170 high school graduate hires. Others include Korea Electric Power Corporation with 1,100, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power with 432, and Korea Water Resources Corporation with 300.

Among the 31 public enterprises, more than half, 18 organizations, will start recruitment in the first half of the year. Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation is currently conducting document screening, and Korea Gas Corporation, Korea South-East Power, and Korea Railroad Corporation will begin accepting applications in February. Korea Electric Power Corporation will start accepting applications in March. Others such as SR Corporation, Korea Water Resources Corporation, and Busan Port Authority will accept applications in the first quarter. Incheon International Airport Corporation, HUG, and Korea Land and Housing Corporation have not yet set their recruitment schedules.

The public enterprise with the highest annual salary for new regular employees this year is Incheon International Airport Corporation. The annual salary for new general employees (grade 5) at Incheon International Airport Corporation, excluding performance bonuses, is specified as 45.89 million KRW.

Others include Korea Racing Authority at 43.19 million KRW (excluding performance bonuses), HUG at 42.31 million KRW, and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power at 42 million KRW. The company with the highest proportion of high school graduate hires is Korea South-East Power, which hires 30 full-time high school graduate employees, accounting for 16.7% of the total 180 hires.
