[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Dongshin University announced on the 22nd that it will freeze undergraduate tuition fees for the 2021 academic year and reduce the admission fee by 50%.
For graduate school, it was decided to freeze both tuition and admission fees.
Despite difficulties in budget management, Dongshin University has participated in reducing the financial burden on parents by lowering or freezing tuition fees for 12 years from the 2009 academic year to this year.
Even under these circumstances, as an education-centered university, it has continuously improved educational programs, employment programs, and scholarship systems for enrolled students, enhancing its reputation as a university with strong employment outcomes.
Last year, one out of every four enrolled students at Dongshin University received a full scholarship throughout the year, 36.6% of enrolled students received a full scholarship for one semester, and all enrolled students received some form of scholarship, demonstrating abundant scholarship benefits.
The achievements of these scholarship and educational programs have led to a high employment rate. According to the Ministry of Education’s recent information disclosure, Dongshin University’s most recent employment rate (2019) was 66.9%, the highest among general universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam with over 1,000 graduates.
Since 2009, Dongshin University has held the number one title nine times and has maintained the top position for three consecutive years recently. The average employment rate reached 69.4%.
In particular, over the past two years, 26 successful candidates have been placed in public institutions such as KEPCO, which is considered the top employment choice. Additionally, about 160 successful civil service candidates have been produced, solidifying its position as a strong employment leader.
This year, Dongshin University plans to significantly improve the quality of employment by supporting a free dormitory-type university program for freshmen dreaming of employment in the Innovation City.
