[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Five new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Gwangju.

According to Gwangju City on the 22nd, four cases related to Hyojeong Nursing Hospital and one case with an unknown infection route tested positive, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the region to 1,476.

New confirmed cases were identified during the 8th round of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests conducted every three days on patients admitted to Hyojeong Nursing Hospital and others.

Since the 2nd, a total of 157 people, including 110 patients, 32 staff members, and 15 family and acquaintances, have tested positive at Hyojeong Nursing Hospital.
