Naver KnowledgeIN Launches 'Expert Agency' Service
‘BeopryulN Media,’ a joint venture (JV) of Naver responsible for Naver’s legal content, signed a business agreement on the 19th with ‘LawLINE,’ a leading company in lawyer promotion and legal marketing.
BeopryulN Media produces and operates legal content on Naver’s ‘Legal Board,’ one of the 13 themed boards operated by Naver, and the official channel ‘Naver Legal’ platform. It also operates the Naver Knowledge iN ‘Expert Agency’ business.
LawLINE is a subsidiary specializing in ‘legal marketing and consulting’ under CSV News Co., Ltd., an IMC specialist company that has engaged in social contribution and sharing activities, including co-hosting the ‘Seoul Sharing Angel Festival’ event with the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Launched last year, it has been recognized for its capabilities by handling promotion and consulting for dozens of law offices and law firms.
Hong Jeong-pyo, CEO of BeopryulN Media, stated, “We expect that the business agreement with LawLINE, which has strengths in legal marketing, will serve as a stepping stone for legal tech to firmly establish itself in the legal community. We believe Naver Legal can play a role in helping citizens more easily access legal services, which are still difficult for many to approach.”
According to the Korean Bar Association, as of January 2021, there are 29,589 registered lawyers in Korea, and competition is intensifying. Along with this, ‘marketing firms’ and ‘network firms’ specializing in legal marketing have been emerging, frequently exposing provocative phrases, which has led to an increase in market confusion and side effects. As a result, industry insiders say that lawyers who want accurate and highly reliable promotion and marketing sometimes face complaints from consumers, creating difficult situations.
Lee Byung-kwon, CEO of LawLINE, said, “Clients as consumers tend to prefer paying even a small consultation fee to obtain accurate and reliable information rather than trusting advertisements with low credibility. This agreement is expected to establish a legal consultation and marketing atmosphere in the direction consumers want.”
Through the agreement with BeopryulN Media, LawLINE will actively utilize the Naver Legal channel in its lawyer promotion services and develop the “Naver Legal Annual Membership Service” and “Naver Knowledge iN Expert Agency Service,” which can enhance brand value along with case acquisition, and will launch them in limited quantities at special prices.
