[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province will expand job-seeking activity expenses to support the reemployment of women in the province whose careers have been interrupted due to pregnancy, childbirth, and family care, providing up to 3 million KRW per person.
According to the province on the 22nd, eligible applicants must be unemployed women aged between 35 and 54 currently residing in Gangwon Province, with household income at or below 150% of the median income based on household size.
Selected women will receive 500,000 KRW per month for six months starting in March, up to a maximum of 3 million KRW in job-seeking activity expenses. Additionally, if they succeed in finding employment during the support period, they will receive an extra 500,000 KRW employment success bonus after three months of continuous employment.
The support funds will be provided as online points and can be used for expenses necessary for job-seeking activities, including education fees, textbook purchases, certification acquisition costs, and interview activity expenses.
Applications will be accepted from the 25th of this month until the 9th of next month. Evaluation will be based on quantitative criteria such as household income (50 points), duration of unemployment (40 points), and length of residence in the province (10 points), with higher scores given priority.
In the event of a tie, the decision will be made based on the ranking of household income, unemployment duration, and length of residence in that order. By February 26th, approximately 3,000 eligible applicants will be finally selected.
Additionally, job information will be provided through the 'Gangwon-do Job Foundation' and the 'Women’s New Employment Center,' and employment services such as job counseling and interview consulting will be linked and supported.
