[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) announced on the 22nd that it will hold a 'Corporate Briefing Session on Responding to the Revised Commercial Act' at 10 a.m. on the 28th at the FKI Conference Center.
Attorney Kim Ji-pyeong from Kim & Chang Law Office, who specializes in corporate law and corporate governance, will explain the major amendments to the Commercial Act passed by the National Assembly in December 2020 and the corresponding corporate response measures. Following this, Attorneys Jung Ji-young and Cho Young-dae from Kim & Chang Law Office will share their insights on the matters companies need to prepare for in accordance with the changed corporate regulatory environment and the associated legal risks.
The FKI stated, "Ahead of the shareholder meetings scheduled for March this year, this session will be a valuable opportunity to prepare in advance for the separate election of audit committee members and the strengthened 3% voting rights limit for major shareholders due to the Commercial Act amendments, as well as for practical changes in shareholder meetings such as the prior disclosure of business reports following the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the Commercial Act."
