[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City (Acting Mayor Byun Seong-wan) will hold the ‘2021 Busan Regional Public Institution Informatization Project Integrated Briefing Session’ online in a non-face-to-face format at 3 p.m. on the 22nd.
This year, Busan City will invest 87 billion KRW in 532 projects for informatization, including ▲94 projects at the headquarters and business offices worth 35.4 billion KRW, ▲329 projects in districts and counties worth 18 billion KRW, ▲38 projects in public corporations and foundations worth 5.4 billion KRW, and ▲71 projects in investment and contribution institutions and public institutions relocated to Busan worth 28.2 billion KRW.
This is a 16.6% increase compared to last year’s 456 projects, and projects utilizing core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and cloud computing will be promoted for digital transformation.
By type, the projects include ▲100 system construction and advancement projects (38.8 billion KRW), ▲159 HW/SW purchase projects (18 billion KRW), ▲105 information and communication and information security projects (18.1 billion KRW), and ▲168 operation and maintenance projects (12.1 billion KRW).
This year’s major projects include big data analysis in data-based economy, culture, and daily life fields; AI-based smart intersection advancement for emergency vehicle priority signals; next-generation management support information system construction; advancement of the emergency rescue standard system for citizen safety; and expansion of the 119 comprehensive situation room reception desk.
The briefing session will be held online in a non-face-to-face manner to revitalize the local economy, which has been difficult due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Busan City, districts and counties, public corporations and foundations, and public institutions relocated to Busan will jointly provide information on this year’s informatization project orders, related regulations, and precautions.
This year, educational institutions such as the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will participate for the first time, and the session will proceed in the order of ▲introduction of Busan City’s informatization policy goals and promotion directions ▲list of planned informatization projects and major project guidance ▲detailed explanations by project managers for major projects with budgets over 300 million KRW ▲and Q&A.
Byun Seong-wan, Acting Mayor of Busan, said, “We aim to encourage more institutions to participate by cooperating with local public institutions and to expand opportunities for local ICT companies by introducing as many informatization projects as possible, thereby contributing to regional revitalization. We will continue to support the local information and communication technology (ICT) industry through regular briefing sessions every year.”
