[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University announced on the 22nd that it will freeze tuition fees for undergraduate and graduate programs for the 2021 academic year.

According to the university, the tuition freeze was confirmed through the on-campus Tuition Committee the previous day. In addition to freezing tuition fees, the university decided to reduce the admission fee for new students by 50% compared to last year, setting it at 143,760 KRW.

Hannam University has consecutively reduced or frozen tuition fees for 10 years from the 2012 academic year to this year. In particular, this year's admission fee is more than 80% lower than that of 2017.

A Hannam University official stated, "It is true that the university faces difficulties in financial management due to 10 consecutive years of tuition reductions or freezes, but this decision was made considering the economic circumstances of students and in cooperation with government policies. The university plans to maintain a tight budget this year by minimizing unnecessary operating expenses."
