2021 SeoulTech Regional Cooperation Project 'Eum' Online Seminar and On-Offline Forum Held


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 13th and 20th of last month, the '2021 Seoul National University of Science and Technology Regional Win-Win Project ‘Eum’ Online Seminar and Forum' was held twice at Seoul National University of Science and Technology located in Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul.


As the university and the local community continue cooperation and exchange for mutual growth, Nowon-gu and Seoul National University of Science and Technology conducted the 2021 Seoul National University of Science and Technology Regional Win-Win Project with active participation from local members of the National Assembly, city council members, district heads, and public-private experts, and it was held online due to COVID-19.


According to Assemblywoman Eunju Lee, this project has been carried out since last year as a business for the university to serve the local community and promote win-win cooperation. It involved discussions with local residents on regional issues and expanded into online seminars and both online and offline forums.


The main agenda of the project was to share the current status of Nowon-gu and the university’s infrastructure that can cooperate with the region, ultimately forming a path to explore and find ways for mutual growth between the university and the local community. The goal was to seek win-win cooperation measures between Nowon-gu and Seoul National University of Science and Technology.


Assemblywoman Eunju Lee, who participated as a panelist in both parts I and II of the '2021 Seoul National University of Science and Technology Regional Win-Win Project ‘Eum’ Facing the Region,' stated, “As a Seoul city council member representing Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, I had ample opportunity to share opinions on the necessity and potential of establishing a cooperative system between Seoul National University of Science and Technology and the local community. Furthermore, I am grateful to have been invited to a place where we could also explore the macro direction of linking regions and universities in Seoul.”


She continued, “I will continue to serve as a catalyst for sustainable mutual growth and cooperation between the school and the region,” and emphasized, “I will also maintain deep interest and consideration regarding the activation plan for the Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail and the cooperative structural plan between the university and the region.”
