[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A group that broke into a jewelry store in Seoul and stole precious metals was caught by the police.
The Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that they arrested three people in their 20s on charges of special theft.
At around 4 a.m. that day, the suspects, wearing black clothes and hats, broke the glass window of a jewelry store in Gwanak-gu, entered, and stole precious metals displayed in the showcase. It was investigated that they stole counterfeit gold and 14K gold items.
After receiving a report from a private security company, the police arrived at the scene and tracked the suspects' movements based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, arresting them around 5 p.m. that day.
The police are conducting an investigation into the exact circumstances of the incident.
