[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] As of 5 PM, Gyeongnam Province announced a total of 20 confirmed cases: 11 in Geoje, 3 in Miryang, 3 in Gimhae, and 1 each in Jinju, Changwon, and Yangsan.
In Geoje, a family of five in their 40s and 50s, including children, who had a family gathering in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, were consecutively confirmed positive and classified as cases 1789, 1792~1794, and 1799. It was found that about 17 people, including family members from other regions, attended the gathering.
Five people who tested positive after contact with confirmed cases in the province were classified as cases 1790~1791, 1798, 1800, and 1801. Additionally, a person in their 50s who voluntarily got tested after feeling symptoms was classified as case 1802.
In Gimhae, one person who had contact with a confirmed case's family member and one person who voluntarily got tested after feeling symptoms tested positive and were classified as cases 1788 and 1787, respectively. One person with an unknown infection route was classified as case 1806.
Among the three confirmed cases in Miryang, two tested positive after contact with acquaintances and were classified as cases 1795 and 1796. One person developed symptoms during self-quarantine after contact with a confirmed case in the province and was classified as case 1797.
One confirmed case each in Jinju and Changwon tested positive after contact with confirmed cases in the province and were classified as cases 1803 and 1804.
One confirmed case in Yangsan with an unknown infection route tested positive and was classified as case 1805.
Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province increased to 1,803 (257 hospitalized, 1,540 discharged, 6 deceased).
