How Should We Develop Our Region? Live Broadcast of Forum with University, Local Government, and Cable TV On the 21st, officials from Busanjin-gu and LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting, who participated in the academic-industry cooperation project at Dong-Eui University, are conducting a YouTube live broadcast forum.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A YouTube live forum addressing regional development issues, organized by a university, local government, and cable TV broadcasting, is gaining attention.


Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) held an online forum titled ‘Dong-Eui University Current Learning Cooperation Project’ via YouTube live broadcast on January 21.


The forum, themed ‘Discussing the Future of Busanjin-gu in the Post-COVID Era,’ was hosted by Dong-Eui University’s Specialized Project Group and organized by the Dong-Eui University Dignitas Liberal Arts Education Research Institute, with participation from Busanjin-gu and LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting.


President Han Su-hwan of Dong-Eui University said via video connection, “Dong-Eui University is the only four-year comprehensive university located in Busanjin-gu, and recent internal and external project achievements and development have been possible because of collaboration with the local community.”


President Han added, “The local community and the university have a win-win symbiotic relationship. Through the Current Learning Cooperation Project, the local government and university jointly identify regional issues and aim to create a cooperative model to solve problems in the new normal era.”


Professor Kim Yong-ha of the Department of Literature and Humanities at Dong-Eui University gave a presentation titled ‘The Marginalia of Cities in the Post-COVID Era.’ Ha Dong, head of the Tourism Division at Busanjin-gu Office, explained the ‘Busanjin-gu Smart Shopping Special Zone.’


Professor Kim Min-jung, majoring in Advertising and Public Relations at Dong-Eui University, presented on ‘The Vision of Busanjin-gu Times Square,’ and Seo Eun-sook, head of Busanjin-gu Office, spoke about ‘Development Directions for Busanjin-gu after the Post-COVID Era.’


Due to COVID-19, Dong-Eui University is conducting many projects with the local community in an untact (contactless) manner. On January 12, the university carried out the regional regeneration project ‘Dong-Eui Youth Village Big Event’ in Gaya 1-dong using an untact method, receiving positive responses from many local residents.


Additionally, numerous programs are being launched, including quality-of-life improvement programs for the elderly population, the Dong-Eui Dongrak Project producing home training videos to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, and medical volunteer activities utilizing the capabilities of the Department of Korean Medicine and health-related departments.
