On the 21st, the COVID-19 Countermeasures Special Committee requested the government to identify the status of variant viruses, supplement social distancing regulations, implement early vaccine procurement measures, and form a joint public-private COVID-19 vaccination countermeasure committee in connection with the government's COVID-19 prevention measures.

In particular, the committee is demanding a domestic investigation regarding the rapid global spread of the UK-origin COVID-19 variant virus. Although the government announced that there were 18 confirmed cases of the variant virus as of the 18th, it has not disclosed details such as the specimens confirmed, which is a concern for the People Power Party. In this regard, the committee has demanded that viral tests be conducted on COVID-19 confirmed cases occurring in December and January, and that the results be disclosed.

Additionally, the committee requested that adjustments be made in a more scientific manner regarding the difficulties faced by self-employed individuals due to social distancing measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They stated, "Social distancing should be readjusted based on scientific grounds for prevention, identifying COVID-19 transmission indices according to space and activities such as occupation, industry, and traffic conditions."

Furthermore, the committee also demanded that government agencies such as the National Intelligence Service respond with full effort to secure COVID-19 vaccines, and requested the establishment of a 'Joint Public-Private COVID-19 Vaccination Countermeasure Committee' to prepare discussions related to priority vaccine recipients, vaccine transportation, vaccination personnel, and facility equipment.
