[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] SJ Group, which owns the global fashion brands Kangol and Helen Kaminski, announced on the 21st that it has signed an exclusive license agreement with Pan American World Airways for Korea.
Pan American World Airways, founded in the United States in 1927, is a brand known for numerous "world firsts," including the first round-the-world route and the introduction of business class seats. With its long history, it has a heritage logo and vintage archives familiar to the public.
SJ Group plans to reinvent Pan Am as a global lifestyle brand based on its rich historical content. The brand launch is scheduled for the second half of next year, and the exclusive license agreement for Korea, covering a wide range of categories including apparel and accessories, is valid until 2031.
An SJ Group official stated, "Please look forward to the synergy effect that will arise from the meeting of SJ Group, which has successfully launched licensed brands, and Pan Am, a brand representing the 20th century."
Meanwhile, SJ Group is currently entering Alibaba's Tmall and Hainan duty-free shops with the goal of launching Kangol and Kangol Kids in the Chinese market in the first half of the year. The company is also preparing to launch its first in-house brand, the space platform business LCDC (LE CONTE DES CONTES).
