Gwangju Buk-gu, Recruiting Candidates for Youth Special Support Project Until the 9th of Next Month

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 21st that it will recruit candidates for the '2021 Youth Special Support Project' until the 9th of next month.

The 'Youth Special Support Project' is a program that provides customized services such as living expenses, health check-up fees, and tuition to at-risk youth who are experiencing social and economic difficulties.

The eligible applicants are youths aged 9 to 18 who need support to prevent delinquency and deviation, out-of-school youths, youths without guardians, or those who are not effectively protected by their guardians.

The support includes financial aid or equivalent goods or services up to 100,000 KRW per month and up to 3.5 million KRW per year in eight areas: living, health, academics, independence, counseling, legal, activities, and others.

The selection criteria are households with median income at or below 72% (65% or below for living and health support) according to the 2021 National Health Insurance premium self-payment standard.

Youths or guardians who wish to apply can visit the local administrative welfare center in their residential area and submit the required documents.

Buk-gu plans to finalize the support recipients after reviewing eligibility and other criteria in March.

District Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "We will continue to actively support youths in blind spots, such as out-of-school youths, so that they can grow into healthy members of society."
