In the first half of the year, a flood of large-scale apartment supplies is expected in the provinces.

According to Real Estate Info, a real estate market analysis firm, a total of 54,410 apartment units will be supplied in the five major metropolitan cities of Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Ulsan during the first half of the year. This is double the 25,182 units supplied during the same period last year. Especially in the first quarter, which is usually considered an off-season, a large number of planned large-scale supplies that were scheduled for the end of last year will be released.

The city with the largest supply volume in the first half is Daegu. A total of 34 complexes will supply 22,363 units. The general supply volume also reaches 19,517 units. Notably, Daewoo Construction and POSCO Construction are redeveloping the Gangchon 2 District in Pah-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, into the “Suseong The Palace Prugio The Sharp.” It consists of 18 buildings with 1,299 units, of which 1,055 units, or 80% of the total, will be available for general sale.

In Busan, 15 complexes will supply 12,993 units. This includes many large-scale redevelopment and reconstruction projects such as Oncheon 4 District and Yangjeong 1 District. The general supply units increased by about 1,000 units to 6,459 compared to 5,424 units in the same period last year. KCC Construction will launch sales this month for the residential-commercial complex “Anrak Switzen” located at 603-116 Anrak-dong, Dongnae-gu. It consists of two buildings with a maximum of 37 floors, comprising 220 apartments and 14 officetel units.

Daejeon will also see more than 5,000 units available for general supply. Major supply complexes include △Cheondong 3 District (1,328 units) △Seonhwa District (997 units) △Daeseong-dong, Dong-gu (934 units). Additionally, Ulsan will have 5,955 units across 6 complexes (3,787 units for general sale), and Gwangju will have 5,957 units across 15 complexes (2,509 units for general sale) newly supplied.

Experts predict that the enthusiasm for provincial housing subscriptions will continue this year as well. Shim Gyo-eon, a professor in the Department of Real Estate at Konkuk University, said, "Even if the supply volume increases in the first half of this year, it will be insufficient to meet the overall demand, so the subscription enthusiasm is likely to continue for the time being."
