[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gimcheon Sangmu Professional Football Club announced on the 21st that it held the 1st board meeting of 2021 on the morning of the 20th at the International Conference Room of Gimcheon Culture and Arts Center. The meeting was attended by the club owner, Mayor Kim Chung-seop of Gimcheon, CEO Bae Nak-ho, directors, and auditors.
The matters deliberated and resolved included changes in executives, the 2020 settlement (draft), the 2021 business plan and budget (draft), establishment of articles and regulations (draft), and the selection of an agency to attract advertising revenue projects.
As part of the detailed contents of the business plan and budget (draft), the direction for Gimcheon Sangmu in 2021 was also discussed. Topics included promotion to K League 1, enhancing the status of the city as a sports-specialized city, and low-cost, high-efficiency club management plans.
Mayor Kim Chung-seop, the club owner, emphasized, "A new sports history of Gimcheon has begun thanks to Gimcheon Sangmu," adding, "I hope that through Gimcheon Sangmu, Gimcheon sports and, furthermore, the Gimcheon community will develop. I wish for it to become a wonderful club that citizens can be proud of."
CEO Bae Nak-ho said, "I hope Gimcheon becomes united through professional football. We will do our best to ensure that Gimcheon Sangmu greatly contributes to raising the status of our Gimcheon," and pledged, "Especially, I will join forces with Director Lee Heung-sil, a former national team football player and professional coach, to create the best Gimcheon Sangmu."
Meanwhile, the Sangmu football club has relocated its base to Gimcheon and will use Gimcheon Sports Complex as its home stadium. According to the regulation that "all teams newly participating in the K League join as K League 2 clubs," the club will start from K League 2 in the new season.
