KT's 'Raensun Yagak' Ad Hits 4 Million Views, Perfectly Capturing Parents' Hearts

[Asia Economy Reporter Seol Gina Jo] KT announced on the 21st that the ‘Ranseon Night School’ advertisement, which conveys the hearts of parents, has surpassed 4 million cumulative views on its official YouTube channel within 10 days.

‘Ranseon Night School’ is a non-face-to-face learning program jointly launched by KT and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education in October last year. It is conducted in a four-person non-face-to-face group mentoring format, where one university student ‘mentor’ is in charge of three middle school student ‘mentees.’ University student mentors meet their middle school mentees for four hours a week using KT’s non-face-to-face online education platform, and middle school students can focus on subjects they wish to study, mainly basic academic subjects such as Korean, English, and Math. Currently, the first term of Ranseon Night School is underway with 100 university students and 300 middle school students.

The advertisement released by KT on the 12th features parents who are worried about their children’s education sharing their stories. It tells how KT aims to help parents struggling with concerns such as considering resignation or leave due to ‘care gaps’ caused by school closures, and worries about learning gaps caused by remote classes through ‘Ranseon Night School.’

Since March last year, KT has launched a corporate campaign called ‘Filling the Heart.’ It signifies KT’s commitment to enabling each citizen to enjoy a better life based on warm technology for people. The campaign started with stories about restoring voices to the hearing impaired and has expanded to various activities such as online live weddings and non-face-to-face drive-in graduation ceremonies.

Kim Hyung-wook, Vice President of KT’s Future Value Promotion Office, said, “Ranseon Night School alleviates the concerns of parents worried about learning gaps and provides meaningful educational opportunities to students. We will continue to strive to improve the lives of each citizen by utilizing KT’s services and technology.”
