Shinsegae Food R&D Center Receives 'Excellent Safety Management Laboratory' Certification

Shinsegae Food R&D Center Certified as an Excellent Laboratory in Safety Management

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Shinsegae Food announced on the 21st that its R&D Center Future Research Lab has re-obtained the Excellent Safety Management Laboratory certification in the evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT in 2020.

The Excellent Safety Management Laboratory certification system is a program established by the government since 2013 to evaluate and certify safety management levels and activities in science and technology research labs located in universities or research institutions.

To receive certification, there must have been no accidents in the past two years, and a total score of 80 points or higher must be achieved across the categories of Laboratory Safety Environment System (30 points), Laboratory Safety Environment Activity Level (50 points), and Safety Awareness of Laboratory Safety Management Personnel (20 points).

A Shinsegae Food official stated, "This re-certification as an excellent safety management laboratory is the result of long-term efforts to ensure a better environment for researchers," adding, "We will strive to develop and present innovative products in a safer research environment."
