[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jung Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam District, participated in the 'Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge' on the 20th to instill a culture of traffic safety practice within the children's protection zones.

This challenge was organized to widely promote safety keywords that can be practiced in daily life, following recent child fatal accidents in protection zones that have drawn social attention to traffic safety.

The district operates systems for pedestrian safety such as the local voice guidance system 'Smart Crosswalk' and 'Yellow Footprints' for child pedestrians around schools.

Following Namyangju Mayor Cho Gwang-han, Jung Soon-gyun, who participated in the campaign, said, "As the number one city in Korea, I promise to transform Gangnam into a 'dignified Gangnam where everyone is safe.'"
