Chosun Polytechnic Lifelong Education Comic Book 'Cheongchun' Published

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Chosun Institute of Technology is attracting attention by publishing a lifelong education comic book titled ‘Cheongchun’ (Youth).

On the 20th, Chosun Institute of Technology announced that it held a publication ceremony for the comic book ‘Cheongchun’ introducing lifelong education courses at the university presentation room.

‘Cheongchun’ is a comic book that easily explains the contents of 34 lifelong vocational education courses conducted by Chosun Institute of Technology, created to suit the level of general learners. This comic book includes an overall introduction to the 2020 Leading Re-education Project, its achievements, and handwritten course reviews by students.

As the only industrial specialized college in Honam, Chosun Institute of Technology has been operating 34 lifelong vocational education courses since last September as part of the Type 3 (Leading Re-education Type) of the Specialized College Innovation Support Project.

Focusing on lifelong vocational education courses mainly in the engineering field, the university provides high-quality education free of charge to all students, including employees aiming to improve job skills and job seekers preparing for employment or entrepreneurship, through its high-level faculty and practical training facilities, gaining great popularity.

In addition, for general adult learners who may find technical terms such as ‘PLC, optoelectronic convergence components, Python’ unfamiliar, the university plans to produce and distribute the lifelong education course guidebook ‘Cheongchun’ in comic form.

Choi Yeon-woong, head of the Innovation Support Project Group, said, “When counseling students, there are often difficulties because they do not understand what the curriculum teaches,” and added, “We published the comic after looking for a tool friendlier than a brochure.”

President Jo Soon-gye said, “While carrying out the Leading Re-education Project, I realized anew how passionate general adult learners are about the realm of learning,” and added, “I hope everyone interested in lifelong vocational education will find it a little easier to knock on the school’s door.”
