[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Miryang City, Gyeongnam Province, is implementing an on-site, hands-on support service called the ‘Return-to-Farming Mentoring Support Project’ to assist new return-to-farming individuals facing difficulties.
The Return-to-Farming Mentoring Project is a consulting service that matches experienced return-to-farming seniors and advanced farmers with return-to-farming individuals or urban residents hoping to return to farming, providing mentoring support.
Applications are accepted through the Miryang City Agricultural Policy Division until March 12.
Since 2019, 32 early return-to-farming participants have taken part over two years, gaining opportunities for field training.
Based on the knowledge learned through this, they continue stable farming activities.
Return-to-farming mentors provide mentoring on the entire preparation process for returning to farming and rural life, including preparation for return, farming life, crop techniques, and startup capabilities, receiving an activity fee of 10,000 KRW per session.
Participants can receive support funds of 50,000 KRW per session for up to 20 sessions, along with consultations on information necessary for settling in rural areas.
Lee Jong-hwang, head of the Agricultural Policy Division, said, “We hope that many capable return-to-farming seniors and experts in the region, as well as new return-to-farming individuals, will show interest and apply so that high-quality mentoring can be provided.”
For more details, contact the Agricultural Policy Division’s Return-to-Farming and Rural Settlement department or the administrative welfare center of your local eup, myeon, or dong.
