Imsil-gun Expands Resident Safety Insurance... Strengthening Resident Protection Safety Policies

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 20th that it will implement a safety policy that adds three items?hit-and-run, uninsured vehicle death, and aftereffects of injury?not previously covered by the existing residents' safety insurance coverage.

The extended coverage period of the residents' safety insurance is from the 16th of last month until the 15th of next year, covering a total of 16 items including the three newly added ones.

Residents' safety insurance is a social security system designed to minimize damage and provide stable support in case of unexpected accidents during daily life, such as public transportation accidents, fires, and agricultural machinery accidents.

The coverage details include up to 10 million KRW for death or aftereffects of injury from public transportation use, death from natural disasters, death or aftereffects of injury from robbery or assault, death or aftereffects of injury from fire, explosion, or collapse accidents, traffic accidents within school zones (for children under 12), death or aftereffects of injury from agricultural machinery accidents, and gas accidents. Drowning death accidents are covered up to 5 million KRW.

From this year, the expanded insurance coverage includes three cases: injury accidents from violent or assault crimes, hit-and-run, and uninsured vehicle death and aftereffects of injury, each covered up to 5 million KRW.

In case of a claim, contact the Safety Management Division of the county office or each eup/myeon office, and prepare the required documents: insurance claim form, resident registration certificate (or abstract), copy of ID, and copy of bankbook to submit to the insurance company.

County Governor Sim Min said, “Prevention is the top priority for accidents, but in case of unexpected accidents, we added items so that residents can benefit evenly. We hope this will safely protect residents from various accidents and provide some help to those affected.”
