[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, will officially begin the 'Remember Hapcheon Video Theme Park Project,' planned to develop a key local tourist destination, after completing the final service report meeting on the 19th.

The Remember Hapcheon Video Theme Park Project is a large-scale tourism development project selected through the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's planned competition-type regional tourism development project to foster key local tourist destinations and revitalize the local economy. The total project cost is 20 billion KRW, including 13 billion KRW in national and provincial funds.

To this end, a basic plan establishment service was conducted, analyzing the development conditions of the Hapcheon Video Theme Park, conducting a tourist status survey, establishing a basic activation concept, and detailed commercialization plans.

Specifically, the project consists of a comprehensive development project combining three packages: core projects, linked utilization projects, and management operation projects.

The core projects aim to revitalize the video theme park and include the multi-video culture core creation project, set indoor remodeling project, and the reconstruction and landmarking of the Joseon Governor-General's Office.

The linked utilization projects are planned as a landscape lighting project for creating a stay-type tourist destination, a promotion and marketing project specializing in video and film materials, and differentiated experiential event projects. The management operation projects include creating new local tourism jobs and establishing a video theme park DMO (Destination Marketing Organization).

Through this project, the county aims to attract 1 million visitors, create 500 jobs during the project period, and increase the current annual filming days from less than 100 to a target of 200 days.

Moon Jun-hee, the mayor of Hapcheon-gun, stated, “Through this project, we will develop the county into a central city for video tourism in the southern region and, in connection with the Southern Inland High-Speed Railway and the Hamyang-Ulsan Expressway, the county will serve as a gateway to Gyeongnam tourism, achieving tourism job creation and revitalization of the local economy.”
