Kim Hyung-mo, Hampyeong County Council Chairman, Joins 'Local Autonomy Expectations & Children's Traffic Safety' Challenge

[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Hyung-mo, chairman of the Hampyeong County Council in Jeollanam-do, celebrated the opening of the era of Autonomy and Decentralization 2.0 and participated in the ‘Expect Autonomy and Decentralization Challenge’ for realizing local autonomy and the ‘Children’s Traffic Safety Relay Challenge’ to establish a culture of traffic safety in school zones.

According to the Hampyeong County Council on the 20th, the ‘Expect Autonomy and Decentralization’ challenge is being conducted by posting photos on SNS conveying key messages such as determination and plans to prepare for the era of autonomy and decentralization, following the passage of the full revision of the Local Autonomy Act in the National Assembly last December, and then nominating the next participant.

Kim Hyung-mo, who was nominated by Choi Eun-young, chairman of the Yeonggwang County Council, participated in the ‘Expect Autonomy and Decentralization Challenge’ campaign holding a placard that read, “I look forward to a new era of autonomous administration centered on residents.”

Then, nominated by Kim Han-jong, chairman of the Jeollanam-do Provincial Council, he also participated in the ‘Children’s Traffic Safety Relay Challenge’ organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to establish a culture of traffic safety in school zones, holding a placard with the slogan “Stop at 1, Look both ways at 2, Wait for 3 seconds, Prevent 4 dangers.”

Chairman Kim said, “I expect true local autonomy to be realized with the passage of the full revision of the Local Autonomy Act,” and added, “I will do my best for regional development and the safety of county residents by practicing small actions to prevent children’s traffic accidents together.”

Meanwhile, Chairman Kim continued the relay by nominating ‘Kim Wan, Director of Hampyeong Education Support Office, Jeollanam-do; Kim Cheon-guk, Head of the Hampyeong Branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation; and Kim Jae-seung, Chief of Hampyeong Fire Station.’
