645 Billion KRW Invested in E-Government Support Project... Online Briefing Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] An e-government support project briefing session will be held for ICT companies, including the intelligent national secretary service and the Government24 customized life linkage service construction project.

On the 20th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that on the 21st at 2 p.m., it will hold the '2021 E-Government Support Project Briefing Session' online. The session will share the 추진내용 and schedules of the e-government support projects for this year and will be broadcast live on KakaoTV.

The 2021 e-government support projects aim to advance the e-government infrastructure system and provide customized services to the public by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, and big data analysis, with a total budget of 64.5 billion KRW allocated to 11 projects.

Among the 11 projects in the AI, cloud, and big data fields are ▲ Intelligent National Secretary Service Construction (Phase 2) ▲ Intelligent Waste Safety Management System Construction (Phase 3) ▲ E-Government Cloud Platform Construction (Phase 3) ▲ Cloud-Based Reconstruction of the Architectural Administration System (Phase 3) ▲ Development of Big Data-Based Intelligent Digital Evidence Integrated Analysis Platform (Phase 2). A new task, the 'Government24 Customized Life Linkage Service Infrastructure Construction' project, which can handle four types of services including support for the elderly and disabled at once, has also been included.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will provide detailed information on the schedules and status of nine projects, excluding the long-term continuous contract projects such as the Next-Generation Resident Registration System Construction (Phase 3) and the Cloud-Based Reconstruction of the Architectural Administration System (Phase 3), during the briefing session.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, direct contracts are now possible after one failed bid, and the temporary contract exceptions under the National Contract Act, such as shortened bid announcement periods, have been extended until June. Guidance will also be provided on strengthened proposal requests under the Software Promotion Act, including project period assessment through the task review committee and review of task content confirmation and changes.

Seo Boram, Public Data Policy Officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, "It is a time when digital transformation across society is necessary through new technologies such as artificial intelligence," and added, "We request active participation in the projects from capable companies with technological expertise through this briefing session."
