Chungnam Provides Up to 480,000 KRW Support for Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products to Pregnant Women

[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province is implementing the ‘Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Support Project for Pregnant Women.’

According to the province on the 20th, this project is being carried out in eight cities and counties?Cheonan, Asan, Gongju, Boryeong, Dangjin, Hongseong, Buyeo, and Yesan?providing eco-friendly agricultural products to local pregnant women for one year.

The target beneficiaries are pregnant women currently expecting or those who have given birth within the past year. Mothers who gave birth after January 1 of last year can also apply retroactively. However, the province explains that the number of applicants per city or county is limited, so the project may end early.

Pregnant women can apply online and will be confirmed as eligible after non-face-to-face qualification verification.

Once verification is complete, they will receive a unique number via text message or email, and pregnant women assigned this number can place orders directly through the shopping mall.

Applications can also be made at the resident centers in their local eup, myeon, or dong. When applying on-site, applicants must submit a support application form, resident registration certificate, pregnancy confirmation, and birth certificate.

Purchasing eco-friendly agricultural products will be possible from mid-next month after supplier selection and procedures for determining items and prices.

The province plans to expand the purchasable items beyond agricultural products to include livestock, fisheries products, and processed goods.

A provincial official said, “We will strive to supply high-quality ingredients to pregnant women.”
