On that day, LG Electronics traded at 161,000 KRW at around 9:20 AM, up 2.22% from the previous day, setting a new 52-week high. Afterwards, the stock price fell slightly and was recorded at 154,500 KRW as of 10:10 AM.
The company’s stock began to surge after news at the end of last year about establishing a 1 trillion KRW joint venture for electric vehicle parts with Canadian auto parts manufacturer Magna. Since December 22 of last year (92,200 KRW), the stock price has risen by 69.7%. Its current market capitalization is 25.5291 trillion KRW, ranking 13th on the KOSPI (excluding preferred shares).
