[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] eBay Korea announced on the 20th that it has appointed Jeon Hang-il, president of eBay Japan (50·photo), as the successor to President Byun Kwang-yoon.
The new President Jeon graduated from Yonsei University, earned a master's degree in business administration, and has worked in various roles including growth strategy planning, new business and product development, and strengthening innovation capabilities at Lotte Department Store, LG International, and Samsung C&T.
He joined eBay Korea in 2003, served as head of sales in 2016, and became president of eBay Japan in 2018.
eBay Korea stated, "During his tenure at eBay Japan, President Jeon achieved a performance that more than doubled the results in just two years," and introduced him as "a leader who understands the essence of e-commerce and customer needs better than anyone else, and will create an even greater eBay Korea."
