GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail, announced on the 20th that it will launch the popular PX frozen ready meal 'Schnell Chicken' as an exclusive private brand product. 'Schnell Chicken' is a frozen ready meal that has been supplied to the Military Welfare Corporation since 2009 and has consistently ranked among the top sellers at PX stores within Army and Navy units.
Schnell Chicken is called 'Godnell Chicken' on social media and is known as a must-buy item during military visits or reserve forces training, often ranking among the nostalgic military foods remembered even after discharge. GS25 explained, "Based on numerous customer reviews and requests for release, we confirmed customer demand for military PX products and decided to introduce Schnell Chicken."
The Schnell Chicken, first released at GS25 on the 28th of this month, is a frozen boneless chicken with a suitable bite-sized portion and a savory, salty umami flavor. By microwaving it for 2-3 minutes, customers can easily enjoy juicy fried chicken.
It is launched with a 10% increased weight of 220g compared to the existing PX product. The package separately indicates the cooking method: 'Active Duty Flavor' for microwave use and 'Discharged Flavor' for air fryer use. The price is 4,800 KRW.

Meanwhile, Schnell Chicken will also be launched at GS The Fresh supermarket stores starting in February.
