Jungjingong 'Naeil Chaeum Gongje', Playing a Key Role as a Job Protector for SMEs

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 20th that it will accept new applications for the Naeil Chaeum Jeongae program. As of last year, Naeil Chaeum Jeongae has established itself as a representative job project that protects jobs and supports long-term employment for small and medium-sized enterprises and workers, with a cumulative total of 550,000 subscribers and a fund accumulation of 4.6 trillion won. Naeil Chaeum Jeongae is a policy savings program in which employers and workers jointly contribute a certain percentage of premiums, and upon maturity (5 years), pays workers a lump sum of more than 30 million won. In particular, the Youth Naeil Chaeum Jeongae for workers under the age of 34 receives additional subsidies from the government.

Subscribers are provided with free online education services, group accident insurance enrollment, healing programs, and SBC plans to further expand these services this year. In addition, new support services such as employee training expenses, management consulting, and financial planning services will be provided to subscribing companies. The Naeil Chaeum Jeongae mobile app, developed to provide customer convenience centered on digital technology, has received positive responses, with more than 200,000 subscribers in less than a year since its launch. It offers basic functions such as chatbot consultation, subscription to the savings program, and payment inquiry, as well as free access to various educational and healing programs. In particular, it provides a community service where users can actively participate and communicate, with rewards for various activities. SBC plans to further enhance content and provide more benefits to participants this year.

Applications for the savings program can be made through the Naeil Chaeum Jeongae website or mobile app. Consultations and subscriptions are also available at SBC’s 32 regional headquarters or at the counters of IBK Industrial Bank, Shinhan Bank, and Woori Bank branches. Kim Hyung-su, head of SBC’s Job Division, said, "Small and medium-sized enterprises play a pivotal role in the national economy, and workers are the core driving force behind corporate growth. We will promote the activation of Naeil Chaeum Jeongae to provide an employment safety net, encourage long-term employment of workers, and maintain good jobs."
