[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has compiled the major new or changed policies and systems for this year into "2021 Changing Yangcheon Life," consisting of a total of 84 projects across 8 fields including education, welfare, and safety.

In the education sector, the "Yangcheon Central Library," which will satisfy residents' reading desires and serve as a hub for educational culture, opened on the 2nd, and there are plans to expand lifelong learning centers to realize a sustainable lifelong learning city.

In the welfare sector, the Yangcheon 50 Plus Center, which supports a happy second chapter of life for middle-aged and older adults, and the Disability Family Support Card system to enhance welfare for families with disabilities are scheduled to operate from the second half of the year.

Also, the childbirth support fund, which was previously provided from the second child onward, will be expanded from January 2021 to include the first child born in Yangcheon-gu.

The Seoul Safe Service, which supports residents' safety in emergency situations, will become even faster. Linked to the Smart City Integrated Platform, this service allows Safe Service (app) subscribers to shake their smartphones three or more times after launching the app, enabling the Yangcheon U-Integrated Control Center to check CCTV footage through nearby security cameras. If the situation is confirmed, emergency calls such as 112 can also be supported.

People-centered urban regeneration projects are also progressing steadily. In the Mok 3-dong Urban Regeneration New Deal project, projects that local residents can feel, such as home repair support and the Kkaebi Market Festival, will be implemented. In the Sinwol 3-dong Urban Regeneration New Deal project, plans include expanding cultural and living SOC, revitalizing communities, and contributing to the revitalization of the depressed village.

The Health Healing Culture Center, expected to be a new-concept complex cultural space, is also about to open. It will provide one-stop comprehensive services for health and care at each stage of pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, and also include spaces for cultural and sports activities, operating as a healing center in the city where body and mind are healed.

A customized remodeling of Paris Park, which was created 30 years ago, will also be promoted. The park’s historic value will be restored, and it will be reborn as a park that meets the needs of both current and future generations.

Additionally, bicycle insurance will be provided to all residents so that they can use eco-friendly transportation safely.
