Lee Jae-myung to Joo Ho-young: "As the opposition leader, are you threatening the president?"

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, fired a direct shot at People Power Party floor leader Joo Ho-young's remark that "former President Moon Jae-in might later become a subject of pardon," citing the proverb "In the eyes of a Buddha, only Buddhas are seen; in the eyes of a pig, only pigs are seen" ('Sian-gyeon-yu-si Bul-an-gyeon-yu-bul-ui' (豕眼見惟豕 佛眼見惟佛矣)).

On the 19th, through Facebook, Governor Lee said, "This morning, the front page of a certain daily newspaper featured a photo of a citizen who put his long jumper on a homeless person, handed gloves from his pocket and a 50,000 won bill, and then suddenly disappeared," adding, "What do the People Power Party eyes see? Do they not see the precarious lives of ordinary people like a candle in the wind, but see everything as political play?"

He continued, "How can such cursed words soothe the hearts of people plunged into hardship?" and added, "I want to believe that the floor leader of the main opposition party was not trying to 'intimidate' by fabricating crimes that do not exist (targeting former President Moon Jae-in)."

Governor Lee further stated, "Just as in the eyes of a Buddha, only Buddhas are seen, and in the eyes of a pig, only pigs are seen, those who always engage in scheming only see things to scheme about," emphasizing, "Let me be clear: no one can fabricate nonexistent crimes and punish others as the People Power Party did when they held power in the past, and no one will be falsely and innocently victimized by such fabrications again."

Earlier, on the 19th, People Power Party floor leader Joo Ho-young urged former President Moon Jae-in at a floor countermeasure meeting, saying, "The sitting president eventually becomes a former president. Once a former president, he might become a subject of pardon. You should have a perspective of putting yourself in others' shoes."

Meanwhile, the photo of a person giving his jumper to a homeless person circulated online throughout the day, delivering a ray of hope in a harsh world.
