TS Trillion's 'TS Good Dye' Popular in Hong Kong "Emerges as Export Hero Item Amid COVID-19"


TS Trillion (CEO Jang Ki-young), the manufacturer and seller of the national shampoo ‘TS Shampoo,’ is gaining popularity in the Hong Kong market with its premium self-hair dye ‘TS Chakhan Yeomsaek.’ This product is a brand steady seller widely loved by consumers both domestically and internationally, along with ‘TS Shampoo.’


‘TS Chakhan Yeomsaek’ signed a partnership in 2019 with the Hong Kong distribution company LEAD AUSSIE LIMITED and was introduced in over 280 stores of ‘Mannings,’ the largest drugstore chain in Hong Kong and Macau. Mannings is operated by Daily Farm International, a major Hong Kong distributor, selling pharmaceuticals, health care products, and skincare items. Currently, ‘TS Chakhan Yeomsaek,’ along with ‘Premium TS Shampoo’ and ‘TS Cool Shampoo,’ are available at Mannings.


TS Trillion attributes the popularity of ‘TS Chakhan Yeomsaek’ in Hong Kong to the steadily growing size of the Hong Kong hair care market and its gentle ingredients.


Global market research firm Euromonitor predicted that the Hong Kong hair care market size would reach approximately 2.32 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 332.1 billion KRW) in 2020, a 1% increase from the previous year, and forecasted the market to expand at an average annual growth rate of about 4% over the next four years. Among this, hair dye accounts for about 10% of the total hair care market but is expected to record the highest growth rate of 4.4% by 2024.


According to the Hong Kong hair care market analysis released by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in September last year, Hong Kong consumers, who have a strong interest in sustainable environments, have recently favored hair products free from silicone, parabens, and sulfates. Additionally, Hong Kong, one of the fastest-aging regions, has a high demand for hair dye. Against this market background, the popularity of ‘TS Chakhan Yeomsaek’ is rising.


TS Trillion’s ‘TS Chakhan Yeomsaek’ excludes PPD (para-phenylenediamine) and contains proteins such as keratin and methionine, as well as plant-derived ingredients like Houttuynia cordata, iris root, and Centella asiatica, minimizing scalp and hair burden and post-dye damage. Clinical trials have demonstrated its benefits in △improving gray hair dyeing power △enhancing dye uniformity, and it has completed skin safety tests, ensuring safe use.


Jang Ki-young, CEO of TS Trillion, said, “The fact that TS Trillion, which introduced ‘TS Shampoo,’ the undisputed No. 1 brand in the domestic hair loss shampoo market, launched this product seems to have earned trust from Hong Kong consumers.” He added, “Promotions conducted at about 80 major Mannings branches since January this year appear to have captured the attention of Hong Kong consumers. We expect the success of ‘TS Chakhan Yeomsaek’ in Hong Kong to serve as a foothold for expansion throughout Asia, including the Greater China region.”
