Launch of Private-Led Hapcheon County Tourism Council to Take Hapcheon Tourism to the Next Level
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 19th that it will promote certified brand marketing for ‘Hapcheon Dwaeji Gukbap,’ a local specialty food produced and manufactured in the region.
According to a survey on tourism activation measures, respondents identified the representative foods of Hapcheon as Dwaeji Gukbap (51%), Hapcheon Makgeolli (32%), Sanchae Jeongsik (12%), and others (5%).
In a survey conducted among all public officials, Dwaeji Gukbap (81%) and Hapcheon Makgeolli were selected as representative foods of Hapcheon that can be easily accessed at low cost.
Based on this, the county developed a design for Hapcheon Dwaeji Gukbap certification and is currently pursuing trademark registration for the developed brand.
The county established a private-led Hapcheon-gun Tourism Council to improve proactive tourism readiness and to take Hapcheon tourism to the next level.
For the purpose of revitalizing the Tourism Council, the county is conducting a full survey of Dwaeji Gukbap restaurants within the county and is promoting education, expert consulting, improvement of employee friendliness, and projects to resolve tourist inconveniences to improve tourism readiness and hygiene and safety conditions.
Through evaluation and review of Dwaeji Gukbap restaurants, Hapcheon Dwaeji Gukbap certification certificates are issued, and integrated marketing will be conducted in the future to contribute to fostering ‘profitable stay tourism Hapcheon’ through extended stays.
The county’s Tourism Council is also actively contributing to creating jobs for residents by linking local extras through training of supporting actors and responding to requests from external film and drama production companies.
