Up to 15 Million KRW Support for Resident Participation Projects... Applications Open Until February 26 for 289 Apartment Complexes with 30+ Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) has launched support for environmental improvement of aging apartment complexes in the area.
The district announced that it will promote the "2021 Apartment Complex Support Project" to create a safe and pleasant residential environment in apartment complexes.
The Apartment Complex Support Project is a program that provides partial funding for the management of common facilities used by many residents within apartment complexes and for promoting community revitalization.
The support targets 289 apartment complexes with 30 or more households in the area, excluding complexes completed within the last 5 years and rental apartment complexes.
The support projects for apartment complexes include community revitalization projects (7 projects such as installing CCTV due to opening fences or passageways) and common facility management projects (8 projects such as repairing main roads and security lights), with up to 15 million KRW supported within 50% of the total project cost per project.
In particular, priority support will be given to four types of projects: ▲urgent repair and reinforcement of disaster-risk facilities ▲improvement of rest areas for security guards and cleaners ▲small-scale aging apartment complexes with poor residential environments ▲repair of children’s playground facilities in apartment complexes open to nearby residents.
Apartment complexes wishing to apply for support must submit the application form, project plan, site photos, and other documents by February 26 to the Housing Division on the 5th floor of Gangseo-gu Office either by direct visit or mail (302 Hwagok-ro, Gangseo-gu Office, 5th floor, Housing Division) after prior resolution by the residents' representative meeting.
Detailed information can be found on the Gangseo-gu Office website under News Plaza - Notices/News, where necessary application forms can also be downloaded.
The support amount will be decided in March after comprehensive review of urgency and appropriateness based on document screening and on-site investigation through the Apartment Complex Support Deliberation Committee.
A district official said, "We hope for much interest and participation in this project to improve the residential environment of apartment complexes," adding, "We will do our best to promote the project so that residents can live in a pleasant and safe residential environment."
Last year, the district supported a total of about 350 million KRW for 64 projects in 60 complexes, including environmental improvements of children’s playground facilities and repair and reinforcement of disaster-risk facilities, receiving high praise from residents.
